2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!
Spring is fast approaching us and I must admit, I am very much ready for it!!
The new blades of grass are sprouting through the dead brown blades.......
And the dandeions are bursting through the once cold, hard ground.
The new blades of grass are sprouting through the dead brown blades.......
And the dandeions are bursting through the once cold, hard ground.
I am done with the cold dreary days.....
The overcast cloudy ones.....
The damp chilly air that lingers in my bones at the end of the day......
And the darkness that closes in around me early each evening.
I have had times in my life when it just wasn't the season of winter that loomed in around me.....
My season was one of dark, cloudy, stormy days that instilled a chill to the depth of my soul....
A season where I was dying to myself and my selfish ways.....
A season of correction and redemption.
A season of correction and redemption.
When I surrendered my complete being to Christ I had to die to my fleshy desires....
No more could I do things my way.......
Dying to our flesh is a daily task, for our flesh and spirit ,that is a daily tug-a-war.
To become a new creation, I had to allow the old to die and the new to come forth......
I admit this birthing process has been hard at times.
There were people, places and things I thought were good for me, but were not.
I had to learn to let go and let God.......
Learn to look to Him completely and not the world.
Compare it to a rose bush......
During the winter months a rose bush is cut back. It's pruning season, getting rid of the old, dead branches.
When we become a new creation in Christ, we too are pruned and cut back by our daddy God. It is in the clipping, pruning and cutting back of the old, the preparation for the new is taking place.

And then when spring turns the corner.......
The new creation blooms........
Lush green leaves.......
Branches that are strong and sturdy.....
And the most beautiful, sweet smelling flowers!!!!
I encourage you, as well as myself......
We may have been going through a "winter" season in our lives.....
BUT spring is right around the corner folks!!!!
From all our pruning, cutting, and clipping......
We are blooming into the sweetest flowers our daddy God has ever created!!!
The old has gone and the new is here!!!!

Romans 12:2
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Last year, my word was "transformed" and I focused all year on Romans 12:2, as I came to better understand how He truly transforms us in every way! I love how you relate it to the fresh newness of spring and the rose bush! Oh, how we desire new spring blooms, the green leaves, and all the beauty!
