God's Rain of Faith~

Parable:  There were two farmers who desperately needed rain. Both prayed for rain however only one of the farmers went out and prepared his field to receive the rain.
Which one do you think actually received the rain? The farmer who went out and prepared his field of course! Not only did he pray about is situation, he stepped out in faith that God was honoring his request and had the rain on its way. His fields were ready to receive what God was bringing!!

What are we doing to prepare our fields for God’s rain in our lives?  In the natural are finances are small, so many of us are struggling to make ends meet, unable to pay monthly bills on time, if they can be paid at all. Our fields are in a drought in the natural, yet we are all praying for spiritual rain to fall but what kind of “farmer” are we? Are we going out and preparing our fields for a plentiful harvest or are we just sitting back and letting our fields just sit?
When God promises us that he is taking care of the situation, that a blessing is coming our way, that he is in control, no matter our circumstances surrounding us, we are to walk by faith and not by sight that his word is coming to pass. In other words, our rain is coming to drench our fields!!
2 Corinthians 5.7 “For we are to walk by faith, not by sight.”
To walk by faith and not by sight, we cannot allow our natural circumstances to consume us with fear, doubt and stress! Go back to the two farmers. They both prayed for rain but only one prepared! He didn’t allow the natural to cloud his vision of faith or to sway his belief that God would bring the much needed rain. He didn’t sit looking out the window staring at his barren, dry fields shaking his head muttering woe is me! He prayed to his daddy God, asked him for rain and then went to prepare for God’s blessings!!
What fields in your life are you needing God’s rain? Bank account? Job situation? Relationship? Salvation and or healing for family members?
Has the Lord promised you a flooding rain in your life and you haven’t seen it yet?
I have several “fields” I pray over in my life. However if I am not out there preparing them, I’ll miss the rain God has for them. In the natural a farmer will put up a scare crow to scare away the birds from his fields, he doesn’t want them to come in and steal the seeds he has planted. Even though the farmer hasn’t seen the seeds he planted bloom, he knows with rain they will produce a field of a plentiful harvest. The same goes for us.  In the natural when God gives us a word, or a promise per say, we cannot let the enemy come in and steal it!!! The word is our seed for the harvest God is bringing in our lives.
The bible tells us the enemy comes in to steal, kill and destroy. Just as a flock of birds can destroy a farmer’s field, the devil can, if allowed, destroy our spiritual fields! I have my “scarecrow” planted right where it needs to be!!!  Where is that you may ask? Smack dab in the middle of my heart!!! The word of God is our scarecrow!!!
Walk by faith and not by sight he tells us!!! God promised you a new home and you can barely make rent now. Are you dwelling in unbelief or are you picking out new paint chips for that new home? Has he promised you a new car and you are having a hard time putting gas in the one you have? Are you window shopping for that new one? Has he given you a promise that your ministry will travel the world but you are having a hard time feeding your family?
For God to promise you a new home, a new car, a ministry that will travel the world, HE will bring the finances to pay for it all. Once again the “rain” is coming!!

Isaiah 55:11

New King James Version (NKJV)
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

To say the rain is coming, is saying God is opening the doors for us to full fill all his promises. His word NEVER returns void!!!
To quote Pastor Joel Olsteen:
“God has set up seasons in our lives. It’s easy to get frustrated when our dreams aren’t coming to pass on our timetable, but every season is not a harvest season. There are plowing seasons. There are planting seasons. Then there are watering seasons. Sure we would love for every season to be a time of increase left and right, good breaks here and there. But without the other seasons we wouldn’t be prepared.  For example; it’s during plowing season the God brings issues to light that we need to deal with. He’s getting us ready for promotion. If you’re not making much progress as you would like, the key is to not lose any ground. Don’t go backwards. Hold your position. Keep a good attitude and do the right thing even when it’s hard. When you do that, you are passing the test and God promises that your due season of harvest is coming.”

Passing the test he says!! That tells me to continue to stand in FAITH. Not to look at my surrounding circumstances, my barren field. When he said” don’t go backwards” I know what I am to do! We all have had God tells us to NOT look back, to keep looking up to him and pressing in!! In other words…PREPARE OUR FIELDS FOR RAIN!!!

Revelation 3:8 I know your deeds, See I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut, I know you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.( NIV)
( Message Bible) “I see what you’ve done. Now see what I have done. I‘ve opened a door before you that no one can slam shut. You don’t have much strength; I know that; you used what you had to keep my word. You didn’t deny me when times were rough.”
Our actions will always follow our beliefs. Are you believing for rain? Are you standing on God’s word?  2011 was a year of “repositioning” for many of us. God told us of the “rain” he had coming however we hadn’t seen it yet.
TD Jakes once stated “The greater the process one walks through, the greater the promotion will be. Before God can promote you, He has to process you. You can’t give up on your promotion. You praised him broke, you praised him sick, you praised him depressed, confused and frustrated. You cried yourself to sleep and still went to church to worship the Lord. You have been through hell and you are still here praising God. Now Watch God!!”
When we accept defeat in our lives that is exactly what we will get. However if we go out and prepare our fields for rain, regardless of what our natural circumstances,   we receive the victory!!! (Victorious Rain)
Hebrews 11: 6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. “
Just as the one farmer sought God, believed God would answer his prayer, stepped out in faith and prepared his field for the rain, GOD rewarded him!
I am ready for the flooding rain of blessings God has prepared for me.  In the last several years, I have been through the plowing and the planting and I stand here today telling you, I am ready for the rainy season of HIS blessings he has for me.
He has seen how little strength so many of us has left, and HE says the RAIN is coming!!!!  He knows we have kept his word, he knows our deeds and HE says the RAIN is coming.

Much Love~
