Mama said there'd be days like this...

I did not hear the alarm and over slept....

I rush into bathroom flip the light switch, bulbs blew out, can't find another light bulb....

Geez..... ~sigh~

I tell my teenager daughter to hurry, which is like trying to make a snail move faster..... ( Mama loves you babygirl)

Attempting to  either apply my make up in the dark, or share a mirror with my daughter makes for a grand time.....

Rush out the door, get in the car, AND we are in need of gas......

Last but not least, we are now stuck in the turning lane with a malfunctioning traffic light.

Really??  ....No, Really??!!

"Mama said there'd be days like this"

I know there are many of you who  have experienced a day like this. I don't claim to be the only one. :)
However when it is your own little world that seems to be spinning on all axes in so many malfunctioning directions, you can feel as though you are the only one.

I can remember when my girls were little and we had (had) a bad day. One of our ,let's put a smile on our face,  remedies was to go to McDonald's and get happy meals. After all if a happy meal and toy can't fix it, what can right? :)

And yes this mama got one too!!  So here I was eating a happy meal with my, at the time,  7 and 2 year old, shaking off the "bad" day. No it didn't take away the malfunctions of our day, but it did how ever give us time together as a family to discuss our day, our feelings and for me to pray with them and over them.

You'd be amazed how a two year old can come up with things that made her day a bad one. Of course it was always after hearing what her big sister had to say and she had to be just like her sissy.
( That part still makes me giggle )

There are days I truly wish all it would take is a happy meal to make my world a happy place. But the truth is, we all have days when it seems as though any and everything that can happen will happen.

It is on these types of days I have had to reach deeper into God's word. I have to remind myself what He says!

1 John 4:4

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

His word becomes my "happy meal" .....

And even though "mama said there's be days like this" My daddy God says different!!

After dropping my daughter off at school, stopping to get my much needed cup of joe, God in his wonderful loving heart has my bestie Diana call me.

Upon answering my phone, her first words to me, "THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE"....and my response "AND I WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT!!!

My "happy meal" had been delivered~

I encourage you all, do not look at your circumstances, situations and day to day life malfunctions. Seek God and His words and watch your day turn around~

Much love,

Stacey

  2. 'God is my happy meal'. I like that. There are days, yet God can make them all better.
